Formula3 -- Fasting and Fitness for Females
If you’ve read any of my recent blogs lately, you’ve may have picked up on a subtle change in my philosophy of wellness. This is because I’ve experienced being unwell, feeling very stagnant and without resolution from my tried and true fitness habits. I’ve been working quite fervently lately (thus the lack of writing) to create a program based on what I’ve learned from the experts and what my clients and I have experienced. I’m really happy with the product so far and want to start spreading the word.
We all have loved ones (or are ourselves) who aren’t well. One of the biggest reasons for this is the fact that almost 90% of us are metabolically sick. We may function decently, but we aren’t well. Either our blood panel shows some disease markers, our weight is higher than healthy, our sleep is disrupted and light, our stress is overwhelming, we lack hydration and good nutrition and good movement, and we also know we should feel better. Regardless of any aesthetic result, feeling unwell is depressing and cyclical. And it’s time we did better.
One of my new favorite experts is Dr. Mindy Pelz. She’s made it her life’s mission to get 1 million people healed through fasting. She’s a wealth of information and does a prolific job of educating. One of her constant messages is “Your body is a miracle.” Last year, I felt like anything except a miracle, but now, I understand why she believes so strongly in our own body’s capacity to heal.
Another favorite is Dr. Jason Fung’s group, The Fasting Method. Fung is considered one of the fathers of intermittent fasting, even though fasting is as old as recorded history. His book, The Obesity Code, and his extensive work with diabetes and kidney disease makes compelling arguments why we are so unwell. If none of this interests you, I would challenge you to explore these two people, at least, and see if what they know doesn’t resonate with your innate desire to live well.
There’s a lot of people and programs vying for our attention concerning our health these days. And while it would be very easy to feel a lack of control over our own bodies, we are in fact, autonomous. We can choose. And I hope you will consider making some monumental-shifting decisions about your health with me this year.
Formula3 is a 12-week adventure into habits around food and fitness, specifically for females (although I wouldn’t turn away any men interested either). The valuable lessons I’ve learned and have seen in my clients are not unique to us. I’ve not experienced anything that you can’t. And even though I've made a lot of changes in all aspects of my personal health, the investment has been worth every discomfort, every dollar and every second of work.
Hopefully, you’re wondering why I would describe a fitness program as an adventure. This is a curiosity because in order for something to be adventurous, there has to be a little mystery about how it will finish. There’s risk involved because you’ll have to work through some long-ingrained habits that are extremely comfortable and soothing. And while that may sound hard, IT IS EASIER than living in a body that is hurting, uncomfortable, dysfunctional, tired, weak and dissatisfied.
If you’re curious, or know someone who may be, send them my way! Give them, and yourself a chance to feel your best by working on 12-weeks of change.
