Why Now is the Right Time to Start
Procrastination is a deadly habit. Delayed action is the fastest way to lose. We are the responsible ones.
These are tough realities, but nonetheless true.
So, how do we get ourselves moving when what we have to change is hard? We get help.
Wasting time learning about what or how to change is just that, a waste of time. Even if the person you ask doesn’t have all the answers, you’ll at least have started, at least you’re doing something. Jocko Willink has an amazing podcast about this topic and I highly recommend you listen to it repeatedly.
When we have been considering changing, we go through various levels of readiness. This isn’t new to anyone, I’m sure. Feeling ready to change, with energy and enthusiasm (even a little nervousness) instead of dread and resentment, is a clear signal that it’s time to go!
However, even if you still don’t WANT to change your fitness and eating habits, you probably know you need to (so let’s do it!). Changing our health behaviors have always been at the top of lists to do in order to live our best life. That won’t ever change. But we must!
The amount of free advice and content is more widely available than ever before, and yet collectively, we have never been more sick as a nation than we are today! Just because we have access to more health advice than ever before, we aren’t making the necessary decisions to heal our bodies from the inside out. We aren’t sick because we lack prescriptions. We’re sick because we lack nutrition, movement, sunlight, periods of fasting, sleep, and healthy stress management. The solutions, then, are to address these issues, not cover the symptoms.
The time to start changing is right now. Not a second later. We must address the underlying markers of serious disease that starts with our behaviors. And since the plethora of information isn’t solving the problems, could it be that each of us individually needs a living-breathing person to help us along the way?
Successful lifestyle changes most commonly come because a client reaches the point that they are so fed up with their current state that they are done trying alone. EVERY SINGLE ONE OF US is the same. It’s NOT for a lack of effort to try to lose weight, manage stress, eat healthy and exercise that makes us fail. It’s mostly because we don’t have a helper alongside us who helps us strategize, keeps us on track, guides our steps and gently makes corrections.
And believe it or not, coaching is not an exclusive service. In a recently published LinkedIn article (although unreferenced), it appears that there’s no limit to how many people hire coaches because we ALL need them.
And here’s the good news: most coaching relationships don’t last forever. It’s the investment in yourself that never ends. Changing is hard enough. Why not make it easier by making a deposit in yourself and get to the finish line faster and with more success?
I can’t think of a good reason either. So if now is the right time to start and I have to tools to help you, why not make the best decision for your future right now?
If you begin today, you’ll finish before the holiday seasons and have every tool in your belt to keep progressing and meeting your health and fitness goals for the rest of your life.
I have the program. All I need is you!
